Pick your story! Choose a genre that is memorable and heartfelt. And don’t forget, you’re writing for a young audience.
Stories need a BEGINNING (setup), a PROBLEM (to be solved), a MIDDLE (the climax is goes here), RESOLUTION, and an END. Don’t leave the audience hanging!
Practice reading your story and time it to be about 5-10 minutes. Check the PACE—is it too slow or too fast? Is it engaging? Practice on children to see their reactions!
Remember the best stories are unique (your own) with genuine, authentic emotion, and they usually focus on a main character.
Pictures always help tell the story If you do not have any photos, our editor will find photos that fit your story and add them with your approval.
