We have many names--Grandma-Grami-Babushka-MeeMaw-Nana-Abuela-Mimi . . . and we are the same, by whatever name: Grandmothers who love our grandchildren and wish to leave them a personal "Legacy of Family Memories"
Our Vision is to offer a portal where Grandmothers can share time with their grandchildren through stories and memories, to leave a legacy—both visual and audial--for their families. The goal is to bring families closer together, wherever they live.
Q. Why are you doing this?
A. To leave a gift and a remembrance for our children and grandchildren, to strengthen the "grandparent bond."
Q. Must I read a story, or can I just TELL a story?
A. Either way is fine! Telling works especially well with family memories and requires no copyright permission from the author. FYI: classics and stories written before 1923 in the U.S. are in the public domain.
Q. When will my story be posted and how will I watch it?
A. We will send you a notice and link which you can forward to your grandchildren and/or friends.
Q. What if I don't want to see myself online, but would like to participate by reading?
A. You may send a picture of yourself which will be posted, and your voice will be recorded. It is more fun for kids to see grandma live, but a picture will work if you are shy.
Q. What if I wrote a story, but I want someone else to read it for me?
A. Again, send a picture of yourself and we have readers and editors to help, as needed!
Q. Who decides if my story is approved?
A. We have a writers' committee that helps us with selections. If we have recommendations or possible changes needed, we will contact you. Sometimes we might get duplicates, so that will be addressed by the committee as well.
